Linda Angotto Memorial Award

Given in memory of Linda Angotto, MSN, WOCN, ANP, BC

Beloved friend, mentor, educator and nurse.

The Connecticut Nurses Foundation is proud to honor the memory of longtime friend and past president, Linda Angotto.

Linda began her career in nursing in 1974, practicing for almost 40 years and across all disciplines. Linda embodied the core of nursing in her practice and personality, demonstrating the soul of the profession to anyone who had the opportunity to work with her.

As a staff nurse in home care, hospice care, medical-surgical and critical care specialties, as a certified Wound and Continence Nurse, and later as a nurse manager, adjunct professor, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner, Linda demonstrated a love for the profession and professional advancement. Through her commitment to quality care, giving each patient the gift of her time and upbeat personality, Linda unequivocally embodied the values of nursing and mission of the Foundation.

Offering her experience across the spectrum of the profession and her commitment to perpetually improving the field of nursing, Linda was a longstanding member of the Connecticut Nurses’ Association and Foundation and a valuable asset to both organizations. Serving as Secretary and on the Board of Directors for CNA, Linda played an integral part on the Government Relations and Awards committees. As a member of the Board of Trustees and later the President, Linda brought a new enthusiasm and vision to the Foundation, dedicating herself to the mission and vision. Linda was considered a transformational president, advancing the reach and impact of the Foundation farther than ever before.

Celebrated throughout her career, Linda received the Connecticut Nurses’ Association’ President’s Award, Vera R. Keene Diamond Jubilee Award, and most recently the Mary Jane Williams Diamond Jubilee Award. These awards only begin to demonstrate the lifelong commitment Linda represented to nursing and her peers in the profession.

It is with respect and gratitude that the Connecticut Nurses’ Foundation honors Linda Angotto’s memory by supporting the future of nursing through this award in her name.

I had the honor of meeting Linda and even a greater honor of providing my nursing services as her nurse. I would love to apply to this scholarship as I am currently enrolled in a master’s degree for nursing education and in need of tuition support. May I apply for this scholarship or someone must nominate me?
    Thank you
